PERSONALIZED ORTHODONTICS WITH INVISALIGN

Invisalign uses a series of removable clear aligners to move teeth gradually. An examination helps determine whether aligners, braces or another approach may suit your teen’s needs.

Treatment time depends on the tooth movements needed and how treatment progresses. Dr. Burton will explain the proposed plan and your teen’s role in following it.

YOUR TREATMENT PLAN

Your teen’s treatment plan begins with an examination and appropriate records, which may include scans or impressions. Ask what the plan is intended to achieve, how progress will be checked and what could change the estimated timeline.

Aligners need consistent daily wear, generally 20–22 hours or as prescribed by your orthodontist. Remove them for meals, drinks other than water, and brushing and flossing. Follow your instructions for changing trays. Some plans also use tooth-colored attachments or elastics.

THE TRANSFORMATION PROCESS

Aligners move teeth through a planned sequence of trays. They are one treatment option; braces may be more suitable for some tooth and bite concerns. Discuss the benefits and limitations of each approach at your consultation.
