The team will explain how to position yourself and remain still while the scanner moves around your head. Scan time and the area imaged depend on the equipment and selected settings.

The value of a CBCT scan depends on the information needed for your care. Exposure varies with the scan area, equipment and settings. Lower-dose protocols can reduce exposure relative to the equipment’s standard settings; they do not make every scan necessary or establish that every CBCT scan has less radiation than every 2D image.
